One hundred and fifty years after it was built to keep boats safe off the coast of New England, a historic Massachusetts lighthouse is now dedicated to a very different — and delicious — purpose.
NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — The Newburyport Rear Range Lighthouse, a landmark along Water Street, was originally constructed in 1873. It was a range light, which was used in tandem with another lighthouse to help keep vessels in a safe channel. Nowadays, it is offered as a unique and private dining experience with a remarkable view.
Rob Mariano, known as Boston Rob, recently visited the lighthouse for a meal with Hyland for an episode of Very Local’s “Boston Rob Does Beantown.”
