GUIDED LIGHTHOUSE TOURS

New England is known for its lighthouses.  Every year, people come from near and far to see a handful of the more famous and easily accessible lighthouses that stand guard over our wave-swept shores.  However, most people are unable to experience the majority of our region’s lighthouses, because they are so frequently tucked away in remote locations that cannot be easily accessed.  If you are one of those people, who don’t enjoy the frustrating experience of getting lost in strange neighborhoods, and would like to see our region’s lighthouses from their best vantage points and hear about the fascinating tales that surround them, then we have the tour for you.

Join James Hyland, President of The Lighthouse Preservation Society, who will entertain your group with tales of these important maritime treasures on the following tours*:

Trip #1
A four hour tour of Newburyport and Cape Ann by van: $75.00 per person
Add a lighthouse slide show/lecture & luncheon: + $35.00 per person
Add a boat trip around Cape Ann:  + $35.00 per person

Trip #2
A full day tour to include a luncheon and the lighthouses
of Boston’s North Shore by bus or van: $125 per person
Add a lighthouse slide show/lecture to luncheon:  + $15.00 per person
Add to the above, a boat trip to either Boston Light or around Cape Ann:  + $35.00 per person

Trip #3
A full day tour to include a luncheon and the lighthouses of
Newburyport, New Hampshire’s Seacoast, and Southern Maine
by bus or van: $125.00 per person
Add a lighthouse slide show/lecture to luncheon: + $15.00 per person
Add a boat trip around Portland’s Casco Bay or to Portsmouth’s Isles of Shoals: +  $35.00 per person

Prices are based on a minimum of 10 passengers.  Because The Lighthouse Preservation Society is a nonprofit organization, half the price is tax-deductible, as a charitable donation.

The Lighthouse Preservation Society is the nonprofit organization that has made lighthouse preservation a national issue with Congressional hearings, conferences, the sponsorship of National Lighthouse Day and its celebrations, the nomination of 20 U.S. lighthouse stamps, and the raising of nearly $6 million for over 160 lighthouse projects.  This prestigious group is also the recipient of a Presidential Achievement Award from the federal government for its efforts to preserve our lighthouse heritage.
