FREE LIGHTHOUSE GUIDES
ASSIST TOURISM AND PRESERVATION
Vacationers touring the New England coastline this year will have help finding those scenic, yet hard to find lighthouses, that are so frequently associated with the Northeast’s shores. Thanks to The Lighthouse Preservation Society*, which has recently updated and published a new series of free lighthouse guides for the New England coastal states of Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, visitors will be better able to find those alluring beacons that are often tucked away in isolated locations.
The guides represent several years of research and site visits to determine each light’s accessibility to the public. Only those lights that are easily viewable to the general public have been included on each state map. They represent a tremendous cultural and recreational resource that will enhance tourism, while raising public awareness about the need to preserve our endangered maritime heritage.
For details on how you can help promote our lighthouse heritage by distributing your state’s Free Lighthouse Guides, call us at 1-800-727-BEAM, or send us an e-mail at email@example.com. Thanks for your help. Together, we can “keep the lights shining”!
